Work Location
This position will be based in Saskatoon, SK and will require regular weekly travel to the Jansen Mine Site. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. BHP offers relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
The Challenge Ahead
The Continuous Improvement Coach leads a team of Continuous Improvement Coaches, to support Functional groups, Operational Leadership and Frontline in their application of the BHP Operating System (BOS), inclusive of Standardised Work, to mature organisational excellence and build capability, to ultimately deliver exceptional and sustainable safety and performance outcomes.
In this role, you will
Support the continued growth and development of Line Technical Specialists (Continuous Improvement Coach) through development plans and managing performance. Manage team capacity to meet required demand whilst safely and effectively executing their accountabilities. Monitor the effective balance of ‘doing, leading and coaching’. Generate a pipeline of talent to ensure the team is consistently filled with high passion and potential towards continuous improvement. Assist Operational Leaders to identify, prioritise, problem solve, support, implement and evaluate success of improvement initiatives. Prioritise delivery and support leaders in Level 3 and Level 4 interdepartmental improvements. Build problem solving capability within operational teams, through teaching, coaching and practical application focusing coaching at throughout the business. Support leaders in motivating a continuous improvement mindset in teams, to create new and standard process; aspiring to set, share and replicate best practices making Frontline work safer, easier, better. This includes engaging stakeholders within and outside the operation. Align Standardised Work activities to Operation priorities and to site and department business planning. Ensure Standardised Work principles and practices are understood and reinforced through consistent application and improvement.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Degree/Diploma in engineering / technology / finance or relevant field, or equivalent knowledge through practical experience. Operational/Frontline experience is benefical. Understanding of Site processes and value chain. Proven ability to identify and deliver sustainable improvements. Understanding and experience in Structured Problem Solving. Demonstrated capability and credibility to coach leaders. Ability to influence and collaborate with Frontline Teams. Understanding of systems thinking.
Ability to manage Power BI reporting
Skill in facilitation. Team player mindset. Excellent work ethic and a good sense of pride in your work. High Integrity with proactive general way of thinking.
