We are looking for an energetic leader with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to lead the Marketing and Communications team! POSITION FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Engagement & Partnerships the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications develops, coordinates, and executes the organization-wide communications and marketing strategy. The position leads an amazing team responsible for MOSAIC communications and marketing activities, proactively working towards increasing the brand recognition of MOSAIC and ensuring consistent and professional internal and external messaging.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountability/ Oversight

Lead and support the Marketing and Communications team to develop and articulate the department's strategic framework

Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership and executive team on internal and external marketing and communications issues

Cross-collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders
-
Create and foster a cohesive team and promote a positive work environment that encourages innovation and collaboration
-
Integrate change management practices with communication and marketing plans, when needed
Direction/ Management/ Coordination
-
Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive communication strategy and public relations program that will enhance MOSAIC’s profile and position within the community
-
Enhance MOSAIC’s image and profile and ensure consistent communication of the profile and brand internally and externally

Oversee coordination of the organization’s external and internal communication materials, including development, and updating of organization presentations, newsletter, brochures, flyers, Impact Report, etc

Oversee the development and maintenance of MOSAIC’s website as a key communication tool

Develop and oversee a strong social media strategy, building MOSAIC’s profile on key social media platforms
-
Lead the team’s adoption of AI tools for communications and marketing workflows, ensuring an ethical and brand-consistent use
-
Develop and oversee an organizational email marketing strategy, including newsletters, donor communications, and program announcements, ensuring consistent branding, audience segmentation, and performance tracking across all email platforms

Ensure that communications and public materials and activities of the client services departments are consistent and representative of the organization’s image

As a resource position, support client services departments in development of marketing and communication skill sets
-
Support the CEO and other directors in internal/external communication and marketing activities
Media and Public Relations
-
Develop and oversee a robust strategy and process for MOSAICS’s public media relations
-
Proactively liaise with existing contacts from media groups and develop new relationships with diverse media groups (e.g., traditional, digital, and community-based groups)
-
Develop and lead an organization-wide reputation management and crisis communications strategy, including establishing response protocols for public reviews, complaints, and reputational risks across all platforms
Communication
-
Develop and implement a corporate communication strategic plan
-
Oversee the implementation of communications plans for key signature events and campaigns
-
Act as a media spokesperson for the organization as needed, provide and/or coordinate interviews and press releases as the first point of media contact
Community/ Partner Relations
-
Stay informed of community issues and funding opportunities; where possible, identify potential strategic alliances and partnerships to influence change
-
Seek out new opportunities for strategic connections and build partnerships, maintain existing relationships and partnerships
Business Development
-
Support development and submission of proposals for new and existing programs/projects in a timely fashion as requested
-
Review and participate in allocating and submitting appropriate grants
-
Review funder contracts and ensure the viability of compliance with contractual obligations related to the communications and marketing areas
Financial Management

Create and oversee the annual departmental budget, regularly review and monitor expenses and variances
Human Resources

Develop, coach, and support team members

Support development and retention of staff
QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in communications, journalism, marketing, fundraising, and/or comparable combination of experience and education.

Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in marketing and communications; leading all aspects of developing and managing communications strategies including e-strategies and paid advertisements;
-
Experience in fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and grant content strategy is a strong asset;
-
Knowledge in communications and branding for non-profit organizations; implementation of marketing strategies including fee-for-service programs; media relations and online reputation management; social media platforms and content strategy; email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp); video and multimedia content production; AI-assisted communications and content creation tools;.

Knowledge in People and Culture and financial management, MS Office suite and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including SharePoint and Teams), graphic design and publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite — Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; Canva), web content management systems (Wordpress) and basic web languages (HTML), database software; Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and digital analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics); standard office equipment.

HOURS:

The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid work model (a combination of in-office and remote work).
