Full-Time (1.0 FTE) | École Notre Dame Elementary School
Bonnyville, Alberta | 2025–2026 School Year** Lakeland Catholic School Division is currently seeking a full-time Student Assistant to support students at École Notre Dame Elementary School in Bonnyville, AB for the 2025–2026 school year.
Serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 4, this position requires a skilled and compassionate professional with a strong background in supporting adolescents—particularly those with behavioural needs, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students with diverse learning needs in classroom and individual settings
- Implement behavioural support strategies aligned with student support plans
- Assist with emotional regulation, engagement, and independence skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers and inclusive education teams in a Catholic school setting
- Maintain student dignity and a safe, respectful learning environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Level 1 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification or willingness to obtain (Level 2 or 3 preferred)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with complex learning needs
- Strong working knowledge of behavioural strategies and intervention techniques
- Ability to maintain professionalism and emotional regulation in dynamic situations
- Alignment with the values and mission of Catholic education
Additional Assets
- NVCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention), First Aid, or similar certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with assistive tech and alternative learning tools
- Strong interpersonal, documentation, and teamwork skills
- French language skills are considered an asset, but are not required for this position
