About the role

The Team You Will Be Focusing On Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP is currently seeking a Float Legal Assistant to work in the Business Group for a 9-month contract in our Vancouver office. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy a fun, challenging position in an office with a great culture. The primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below:

  • Maintain a list of action items for lawyers and follow-up on status as required
  • Maintain and monitor Outlook calendars including scheduling meetings locally and multi-office when required
  • Edit, format, print and revise letters, memos, reports, forms, labels and other printed material using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, from dictation or other instruction as required
  • Initiation of documentation and correspondence on files
  • Assisting with opening and closing client/matter files
  • Maintain an efficient file management and bring forward system
  • Coordinate business travel arrangements
  • Liaising with Client Account Assistants for monthly production of accounts
  • Acting as a liaison between lawyers and various internal and external clients at all levels
  • Handling incoming mail and outgoing mail
  • Perform administrative and related duties as assigned and assist others in the department as required
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks as well as special projects as required.

Vancouver Salary: $45,181.50 - $73,426.50. Salary will be discussed and negotiated during interview and will be based on experience.

What You Bring To The Role

  • 2+ years of experience in a Legal Assistant position preferably with Business experience
  • Graduate of Legal Administrative Assistant program or relevant experience;
  • Advanced PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Chrome River, SAP, MS Teams, iManage knowledge would be an asset)
  • Able to work with minimal direction or instructions
  • Able to delegate work appropriately to other service departments and/or Administrative Clerks
  • Able to manage, organize and prioritize work independently
  • Able to maintain excellent working relationships with all staff
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
