About the role

Position Overview The Advisor, Pension Plans and Group Insurance is responsible for providing expertise and recommendations related to group programs, including insurance, retirement, and wellness. The incumbent partners with HR teams and the benefits administration team to optimize programs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the governance of pension plans and group insurance programs.
  • Establish best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of work processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for policies, procedures, and practices related to employee benefits.
  • Keep insurance and pension plan contracts and brochures current.
  • Develop and update communication tools and materials related to employee benefits (guides, promotional campaigns, etc.) to support employee understanding and engagement.
  • Lead the analysis of all required changes following collective agreement renewals (modifications to insurance policies, pension plans, and systems).
  • Ensure the accuracy of benefits configuration in payroll systems to guarantee compliance and consistent application.
  • Conduct various analyses, including data validation, program utilization, and impact assessments related to plan changes.
  • Participate in the annual benefits renewal process and manage associated changes (planning, communication, implementation, premium updates).
  • Prepare and reconcile financial reports for pension plans.

Act as coordinator and member of pension committees, including:

  • Preparing meeting materials
  • Drafting meeting minutes
  • Communicating with committee members
  • Preparing quarterly activity reports
  • Managing required follow-ups

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting, or actuarial science.
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in administration, communication, and continuous improvement of employee benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience in a large company in reviewing benefit program management processes and harmonizing HR/payroll practices.

LANGUAGES

  • Bilingual, both oral and written (English and French).

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
