Who we are

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province’s power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it. We operate the province’s electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario’s electricity needs – now and into the future.

The opportunity

The Analyst, microFIT is accountable to the Supervisor, Contract Management and is primarily responsible for assisting with the management of microFIT electricity supply contracts.

What you’ll do

The Analyst, microFIT will provide analytical and administrative support including, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the management and administration of microFIT electricity supply contracts. Tasks may include:

  • monitoring and tracking of Supplier deliverables required in the contracts to ensure timely and accurate submissions

  • perform analysis and verification of Supplier documents that are required in the contracts

  • provide 1:1 support via email, telephone, or video conference to microFIT Participants for information and/or assistance with various processes

  • Technical and statistical analysis related to microFIT contracts Tasks may include:

  • using existing IESO analytical tools to conduct data analysis

  • modifying, updating, and adapting existing IT tools

  • developing and executing ad-hoc analysis

What you need to succeed

  • Post-secondary education Business (Commerce or Economics) is preferred; 2+ years of progressive industry experience; and 2-5 years of technical experience

  • Knowledge of Ontario electricity and renewable energy sectors and the regulatory environment

  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of electricity generation, including renewable forms of electricity generation (e.g. solar)

  • Thorough understanding of the microFIT Contract and its various versions

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Demonstration of excellent analytical, problem solving and presentation skills – able to analyze raw data, draw conclusions and develop practical recommendations

  • Demonstration of strong understanding of business principles and processes as they relate to technology

  • Ability to generate high quality reports

  • Strong planning and coordinating skills to organize own priorities and workflow

  • Honed interpersonal skills, comfortable presenting findings internally or externally

  • Other responsibilities as required

We currently support a flexible hybrid work model where applicable that supports a blend of remote and in-office work, based on business needs. Employees participating in the program typically work remotely an average of three days per week within Ontario. When working onsite, employees are based at our xxx office location.
