Under the limited supervision of the Campus Administrator and in collaboration with the Careers Hub Team Lead, the Employer Engagement & Events Coordinator is responsible for engaging with employers locally, provincially and nationally for the purposes of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) at Okanagan College. The Employer Engagement & Events Coordinator is responsible for generating employer leads for WIL, recruiting employers and host organizations for WIL opportunities, and conducting WIL onboarding/ orientation/ update/ engagement sessions for employers on campus, at workplaces, and online, along with developing employer/ host organization WIL materials, resources, and training. The Employer Engagement & Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating Careers Hub employer and employment events and activities including coordinating event logistics in collaboration with other departments. The position acts as a point of contact related to employers/ host organizations for WIL with employer and industry groups, associations, college staff, faculty, instructors, and internal departments.
Functions and Duties

Initiates, develops, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates employer engagement activities for WIL opportunities for OC programs. Functions as a point of contact and referral source for employers/ host organizations seeking WIL opportunities; serves as a liaison for programs seeking WIL employers/ host organizations.

Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates OC career fairs and employer events on campus and virtually; leads collaboration within the Community Engagement & Career department and with other departments related to employers and WIL, along with participating in designated external community career fairs and other special events focused on employer audiences.

Manages employer engagement, relationships, contacts, and on-campus/ virtual employment recruiting activities in a large career services online application and utilizes an events management database to coordinate employer and employment events logistics and other activities.

Designs, prepares, and delivers employer WIL information sessions and pre-employment training workshops and conducts meetings with employers/ host organizations related to WIL benefits, government funding, employer onboarding and orientation, and on-campus/virtual recruiting services via on campus, in workplaces, at events, or online virtual formats.

Prepares plans and reports including event logistic planning, metrics, employer feedback, and event evaluations including streamlining and improvement suggestions.

Recruits, supervises the work of, and provides training to student employees hired to assist with employer related activities, events, and special projects.

Maintains involvement in professional association in the areas of WIL, Community Engagement, Co-op Education, Career Development and/ or Career Education.

Liaises with various departments and faculty members and supports and participates in WIL and employer engagement related activities of departments upon request.

Participates and actively contributes to college committees and working groups and may participate on external committees.

Works closely with Community Engagement and Careers department team members and other departments ensuring adherence to college policies and guidelines as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Graduation from a four-year university program or equivalent in a related area required. Over 4 years relevant experience required. A minimum of four years related experience including two years supervisory or management experience; previous experience in employer customer relationships, employment development, WIL, and/or event management preferred. Must hold a valid BC driver’s license.

Must be flexible and able to manage high work volume and conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines.

Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize data/information and develop/deliver findings and recommendations.

Creative resources developer, problem solver with exceptional collaboration skills.

Excellent computer skills with expertise using Microsoft Office and complex databases, as well as the ability to generate and analyze reports.

Able to travel.

Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule.

Proven project management and project coordination skills.

Social media savvy with experience engaging in online professional and job recruitment platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed.

Proven experience in budgeting, financial, and metrics analysis and reporting.

Demonstrated supervisory and management skills.

Grant application and report writing experience.

Experience working with Indigenous communities and EDISJ training.

Organizing and facilitation of online modules, coordinating feedback and evaluation.

Schedule
Typical hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. However, due to the nature of this position, flexibility is required. Alternate hours and days, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary to meet operational needs such as events and special activities.

$63,827-$72,927
