Overview: Pembina’s Information Services Unit (ISU) is recruiting for the role of Senior Full Stack Developer for a 6-month contract to be a technical leader within our Productivity Solutions team. This is a critical role that will guide the design and construction of high-value, custom applications that leverage Generative AI and modern cloud technologies to solve complex business problems.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will help technically lead for our advanced automation and AI initiatives. You will be responsible for tackling our most challenging development projects, establishing and championing best practices for the full software development lifecycle, and providing mentorship to other developers on the team. You will be instrumental in translating strategic business needs into robust, secure, and scalable technical solutions that drive significant value for Pembina.

Pembina's Information Services Unit manages and maintains the company's infrastructure, provides technical support, ensures data security and accessibility, implements new technology, strategies for future development, manages vendors, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Please note that this is a 6-month contract position Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Lead the hands-on design, development, and deployment of full-stack web applications and Generative AI solutions using C#, Python, Blazor, and Azure services;
  • Act as the lead developer on key projects, guiding technical execution, performing code reviews, and ensuring solutions are built to a high standard of quality and performance;
  • Mentor other developers on the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning;
  • Champion and implement software development best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), automated testing, and secure coding standards;
  • Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to translate complex business requirements into elegant and effective technical designs;
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in the Azure platform, Generative AI, and application development frameworks, and act as a subject matter expert for the team;
  • Model and promote learning agility by adapting quickly to change, encouraging experimentation, and continuously integrating new insights into team strategies and practices;
  • Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and evolving technical requirements by actively acquiring new skills, applying innovative solutions, and integrating feedback into daily problem-solving; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;
  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack software development, with a strong portfolio of building and deploying enterprise-grade applications;
  • 5+ years back-end development experience with Node.js or .NET;
  • 5+ years front-end development experience with React, Next, Vue or Blazor;
  • Proven, hands-on experience building solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, including Container Apps, Webapps, AKS and CosmoDB;
  • Demonstrable experience integrating Azure AI Services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Document Intelligence) into custom applications;
  • Good working knowledge of AI concepts including LLMs, Vectors, Semantic Search, RAG, Prompts and Chaining;
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and RESTful API design;
  • Experience in a technical leadership or mentorship capacity, with a passion for helping other developers grow their skills;
  • Proven ability to demonstrate learning agility by rapidly adapting to changing business environments, embracing feedback, and continuously evolving leadership approaches to drive team and organizational success; and
  • Ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Bicep or Terraform;
  • Knowledge of MLOps principles and experience deploying machine learning models into production environments;
  • Familiarity with the energy sector and experience with operational or commercial data; and
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
