Inpatient Unit Clerk - Rehab-ISU-PC-PC-CC - Temporary Part-Time
About the role
Position**: In Patient Unit Clerk**
Status**: Temporary Part-Time (up to 3 months with possible extension)**
Department**: Rehab/ISU/PC/CCC**
Union Association**: CUPE**
Salary: $29.33 to $31.68/hour
Hours: Varying day shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (hours subject to change based on operational needs)
Position Summary
The Unit Clerk works as a member of a designated clinical services team to provide administrative, clerical and receptionist support services to the unit and associated clinical programs.
Participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
Requirements:
Education:

Secondary school graduation diploma with preference for post-secondary training in office administration

Medical terminology required

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, Internet Explorer, and Cerner applications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a clerical/administrative capacity required, preferably within a hospital or health care environment

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, Internet Explorer and Cerner applications
-
Well-developed clerical and receptionist skills
-
Successful completion of a unit clerk program would be an asset

Ability to process physician’s orders under the direction of a Registered Nurse

Demonstrated excellence in spoken and written communication
-
Demonstrated work experience in multi-tasking and ability to work well under pressure

Ability to work independently and as a team member
-
Demonstrated ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff, patients and the general public
-
Good attendance and availability required
