Current Shifts: All Shifts (0.4 FTE -30hrs/pay)
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Department provides medication management services to the entire hospital including drug distribution and clinical pharmacy support. The Pharmacists function within all clinical care teams, including Critical Care, Medicine, Surgery and Oncology. The progressive pharmacy department has a commitment to patient care, patient safety and continuous learning.
The Pharmacist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams within the hospital in the provision and management of medications to achieve optimal patient outcomes and ensure maximum patient and staff safety. The Pharmacist continually monitors and identifies medication related issues and makes recommendations to maximize patient drug therapy, improve quality of life, decrease length of stay (maximize cost-effective pharmacotherapy) and minimize adverse drug effects and drug interactions. Pharmacists participate in a variety of clinical services and on interdisciplinary committees, as well as mentor students.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Licensed in Part A with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree in Pharmacy
- Three years hospital pharmacy experience and/OR completion of a Hospital Residency is preferred
- Experience with Meditech and medication order scanning systems preferred
- Demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, along with a familiarity with database manipulation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong coaching, teaching and mentoring skills to provide comprehensive leadership to an inter-disciplinary team
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and autonomous decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and as a team member in a fast paced, challenging environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
