OSSTF - Speech Language Pathologist

One (1) Temporary Full Time Position (35 hpw)

Effective Date: Immediately - June 26, 2026

Salary: OSSTF_PSSP 6 - $49.20 - $68.23 per hour (plus vacation pay)

Position Summary**:**

Under the direction of the Supervisor – Speech language Services, Speech Language Pathologists provide assessment, consultation and therapeutic programs for students with communications needs to support students in accessing the curriculum and be successful academically.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessment/screening, identify specific communication and literacy needs and subsequently provide recommendations including submission of SEA Claims.
  • Collaborate with educator teams and other members of the Multidisciplinary Team in the formulation of communication goals that will enable students to best access their academic curriculum and experience success at school.
  • As required, complete referrals to pertinent community agencies;
  • Provide professional development/in-service training, as required.
  • Provide consultative support, demonstration and modeling to school teams in order to assist in developing students communication and literacy skills.
  • Provide school and families with materials, references or resources, as required.
  • Liaise with partner agencies in order to ensure that students are communicatively successful in as many environments as possible (i.e., school, home and community).
  • Maintain clinical records as per departmental procedures.
  • Other duties, as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Member in good standing with the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario
  • Four years of experience working with children in a clinic or school environment

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel by car within York Region
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
