Description:
The Weight Room Monitor is responsible for the safety and well-being of the clientele using the Weight Room. He or she can be called upon to develop personal training programs as required.
Departmental mission:
The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.
General responsibilities and goals:
The incumbent’s main responsibilities are:
- Prepare and check the equipment;
- Ensure client safety;
- Evaluate the needs and capacities of clients;
- Inform the clients of appropriate exercises;
- Develop personalized programs and demonstrates them;
- Maintain a record of gym attendance;
- Perform any other related task.
Job requirements:
- This job does not require a high school diploma;
- This job requires at least six (6) months to less than one (1) year of experience;
- Personal trainer certification;
- Standard first aid training;
- Bilingual (English and French, written and spoken)
Schedule:
8-20 hours per week.
Work shifts are mainly in the evenings and on the weekend.
