About the role
Join Us as a Product Manager, IoT Modems & Modules! At ORBCOMM, we’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Product Manager to lead our modem and module product portfolio. This is a high-impact role in our Satellite IoT division, where you’ll own the full product lifecycle—from requirements definition and technical collaboration to product launch and long-term support.
This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of cellular (MNO/MVNO) and satellite connectivity, strong cross-functional leadership, and a passion for delivering scalable, rugged, and cost-effective IoT hardware solutions. You’ll also play a key role in expanding our reach by developing new partnerships and channels with MNOs and MVNOs.

What You’ll Do
- Drive Product Strategy & Roadmaps: Define and maintain the roadmap for satellite and satellite/cellular hardware solutions, aligning with customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
- Lead Product Lifecycle: Own product development from concept through launch, including defining scope, balancing timelines and cost, and working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, sales, and support.
- Engage with Customers & Partners: Serve as the voice of the customer, working with strategic accounts and partners to ensure solutions address real-world challenges.
- Champion Execution: Act as the primary product lead across cross-functional teams to convert customer insight into requirements and drive execution through agile development cycles.
- Identify New Opportunities: Develop go-to-market strategies and build new MNO/MVNO distribution channels for ORBCOMM’s satellite products.
- Deliver Competitive Insights: Analyze industry and competitor offerings to refine our product differentiation and support business decisions.
- Enable Sales & Field Teams: Provide expert support during sales engagements, customer pilots, and technical evaluations.
- Support Product Marketing: Collaborate with Marketing and Product leaders to shape product positioning and messaging, including documentation, training, and launch materials.
Who You Are You’re a strategic thinker with a knack for operational excellence, ready to tackle multiple priorities with agility and grace. If you have:
- Experienced Leader: 7+ years of product management experience in hardware, embedded systems, or IoT, with at least 5 years managing cross-functional development and launch.
- IoT & Connectivity Expert: Strong knowledge of the IoT ecosystem, especially cellular and satellite connectivity technologies and business models.
- Strategic Thinker & Doer: Proven success translating customer and market needs into technical requirements and roadmaps that drive adoption and revenue.
- Clear Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative Partner: Enjoys working closely with engineering, operations, sales, and external partners in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized & Action-Oriented: Strong planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; capable of managing multiple workstreams with competing priorities.
- Digital & AI Fluent: Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance productivity, with a commitment to continuous learning in digital marketing and AI literacy.
- Willing to Travel: Able to travel internationally up to 10–20% as needed.
