Job Title: Financial Analyst Location: Mississauga, ON 3-month contract. Pay Rate: $35 - $40/hr depending on experience
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join a corporate finance team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting and finance professional with experience in financial reporting, consolidations, treasury, and budgeting. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will collaborate with multiple teams and support both ongoing financial operations and ad hoc analysis.
Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records for corporate entities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and departmental expense reports. Assist with the monthly consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation reporting. Prepare quarterly and annual audit working papers and supporting documentation for external auditors. Support budgeting and monthly forecasting activities, including analytical reviews and consolidated forecast preparation. Perform daily cash accounting, cash reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations. Coordinate monthly intercompany settlements and funding transactions. Prepare divisional and consolidated cash flow reports, including analysis of AR, AP, capital expenditures, borrowing, and investments. Manage day-to-day banking activities and resolve banking-related issues. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within financial reporting and treasury functions. Complete required statistical and regulatory reporting. Assist with special projects and other finance-related initiatives as needed.
Qualifications University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting designation (CPA) or actively working toward one. 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with exceptional attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. Experience with Sage 50, Prophix, or similar accounting systems is considered an asset. Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive results.
