We are currently looking for a full-time Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage Department. This position is responsible for assisting in the complete operation of Sports Grill, patio, skating/sports/curling and squash lounges, and sports bar.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages service activities in the multiple dining areas throughout the Club, e.g., Sports Grill, Family Bistro, Sports Bar, Skating, Curling and Squash Lounges
- Ensures all areas are well-staffed and supervised to provide a smooth running operation by providing direct supervision of front staff
- Ensures meals and beverages are served in a professional and timely manner by circulating the dining areas and communicating with the kitchen and serving staff; including staffing, organization and execution of events
- Works with staff on all preparatory work prior to opening and closing
- Responsible for staffing levels; ensures staff are looking after their sections
- Fills front staff roles (e.g. Server, Host) when staff is not available and provides services to members and guest
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness standards within the department
- Provides ongoing training to new and existing front staff
- Liaises between members, service staff and kitchen
- Addresses member complaints and any problems that arise, as well as staff-related issues; escalates appropriately to the Food & Beverage Manager
- Communicates with other departments regarding event changes, member concerns and emergency situations
- Prepares bills and any related forms for functions, and maintains the ordering and storage of paper supplies
- Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club
- Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace
Job Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent required
- Smart Serve certification required
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a hospitality-related industry required, specifically in food services and preparation
- Must have an understanding of computerized point of sale systems
- Must have working knowledge of Safety and Sanitations Regulations
- Knowledge AGCO liquor laws an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to de-escalate stressful situations with empathy and a member service mindset

The Club has a rich history dating back to the establishment of the Toronto Cricket Club in 1827 which merged with the Toronto Skating Club and the Toronto - Victoria Curling and Bowlin Club in 1957.
The Club offers a wide variety of athletics including Aquatics, Cricket, Croquet, Curling, Fitness, Lawn Bowling, Skating, Squash and Tennis with programs and facilities for all skill levels and ages. Along with our athletics, we offer a number of dining options that include bistro dining to a casual sports bar. We also offer options for our families with regular events around the club including pumpkin carving, family skating, recreational swimming and outdoor movie nights.
