About the role
Mechanical Technician II This position is primarily responsible for the preventative maintenance program for all mechanical systems, building management systems and life safety equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Daily inspections of the building mechanical and electrical systems and all required maintenance and repairs. This includes lighting/electrical systems, chilled/heating water systems, rooftop equipment, compressors and boilers, as well as HVAC control systems and fire alarm/sprinkler systems;
- Monitor and assist contractors in the efficient performance of their contracted duties;
- Record mechanical readings at regular intervals;
- Maintain preventative maintenance program for all life safety equipment and performing repairs;
- Maintain good public relations with tenants;
- Evening and weekend work will be required.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful applicants must possess a valid BC or Inter-Provincial 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate. Additional certification, including a Refrigeration or Electrical TQ would be considered an asset;
- 5 years of practical experience with a strong knowledge of HVAC control systems;
- Ability to work with hand tools and at heights;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines to resolve building issues in a timely manner;
- Resourceful team player with excellent communication skills and ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously;
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence required.
