The Opportunity
As anEarly Intervention Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert for both employers and employees, providing guidance and services that support recovery and facilitate safe and timely return-to-work outcomes. In this role, you will collect and assess medical information, coordinate return-to-work plans, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement accommodations or rehabilitation supports. Your work will help ensure effective case management and positive outcomes for employees experiencing medical absence.
This role is preferably based in ahybridarrangement out of our offices inSurrey, BCorBarrie, ON; However, we remain open to remote candidates located elsewhere in Canada.
What You’ll Be Doing

Review new case files and conduct initial interviews with employees and employers to gather claim information and determine next steps

Verify benefit coverage and eligibility details using internal systems

Request and review medical documentation to understand the employee’s condition, functional limitations, and return-to-work prognosis

Develop and maintain case management plans focused on recovery and successful return-to-work outcomes

Maintain regular communication with employees to monitor recovery progress and identify return-to-work opportunities

Collaborate with employers to understand job demands and explore accommodation options
-
Develop and implement return-to-work plans in partnership with employees, employers, treatment providers, and carriers

Identify cases requiring rehabilitation services and make appropriate referrals
-
Facilitate applications for short-term, medium-term, and long-term disability benefits when applicable

Maintain detailed case notes and documentation within case management systems

Respond to client inquiries and communications within service level agreements

Prepare standard and customized correspondence in accordance with case management procedures

Monitor and manage a portfolio of cases while adhering to quality standards and best practices
What You Bring to the Team
-
Post-secondary education, preferably in a health-related field such as nursing, psychology, social work, kinesiology, or in human resources
-
1–2 years of customer service experience, with knowledge of employee benefits considered an asset
-
Familiarity with disability management and return-to-work best practices
-
Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
-
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to understand and interpret medical terminology
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism

Compensation
At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $55,000–$60,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass the comprehensive total rewards package that we proudly offer.
