Role overview:

At WestJet, our Commercial Development team shapes the future of our airline. We create and execute strategies that drive growth, profitability, and innovation across the business.

We’re looking for a Senior Analyst who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution. In this role, you’ll take ownership of initiatives end-to-end, from ideation and business case development to execution and measurement. You’ll partner with teams across Network Planning, Pricing & Revenue Management, Strategy, Finance, Loyalty, and Sales to turn insights into action.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design and execution of long-term commercial strategies that shape WestJet’s growth

  • Build and present compelling business cases, financial models, and strategic recommendations that influence executive decisions

  • Drive projects across the full lifecycle: identifying opportunities, framing the approach, engaging the right stakeholders, and delivering results

  • Research market dynamics, new technologies, and innovative solutions to tackle complex business challenges and identify new opportunities

  • Analyze competitive trends and emerging industry shifts to uncover opportunities across network, pricing, scheduling, ancillaries, and sales

  • Act as a connector across the business — aligning diverse teams to deliver on shared goals

What you bring:

  • A degree in business, economics, finance, or related field (MBA/CFA are considered strong assets)

  • Proven strength in financial and strategic analysis, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • 5+ years of relevant analyst experience

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge

  • Experience in airline commercial strategy, revenue management, or network planning preferred

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft executive-ready presentations that tell a story

  • Strong project leadership — able to juggle multiple priorities, influence stakeholders, and see initiatives through

  • Familiarity with tools like SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, or Snowflake is an asset

Note: The analyst level and title will be determined by the selection team, based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
