About the role
We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who can bridge deep technical expertise with business-focused analytics. You will play a pivotal role in building, optimizing and automating our people data infrastructure, ensuring the team can deliver accurate, timely and actionable insights to HR, leadership and business stakeholders. You will combine advanced Power BI modeling expertise with strong SQL skills and the ability to work across modern data platforms, including our Databricks environment. You will design and optimize datasets, integrate data sources via APIs, and automate workflows that power our people insights. This role is highly visible and your work will directly enable HR and business leaders to make data-driven decisions.
Position Responsibilities :
- Analytics & Visualization: Design, develop, and optimize Power BI datasets, models, and measures for people analytics dashboards; build reusable semantic layers and data models to ensure consistency across reporting.
- Data Access & Transformation : Integrate data from APIs and Report-as-a-Service (RaaS) endpoints; optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability; use Databricks for data exploration advanced transformations and applications.
- Automation & Integration : Develop Power Automate flows to streamline reporting processes and reduce manual work; maintain secure, reliable connections between BI tools and enterprise data sources.
- Governance & Quality : implement validation and reconciliation steps to ensure data accuracy; maintain clear documentation for datasets, measures, and data source connections; partner with IT and Data Privacy teams to align on data access, security and governance.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Serve as a technical expert for Power BI, Databricks, SQL; mentor junior team members and share best practices; lead proof-of-concept projects for new tools or analytical approaches.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years in analytics, BI engineering, or related data roles.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expert in Power BI: advanced DAX and data modeling.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and transformation.
- Experience using Databricks for preparing datasets for analysis.
- Familiarity with API integrations and RaaS connections.
- Experience with Power Automate or other workflow automation tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance and security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HRIS or people data (e.g. Workday).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and BI security models.
- Exposure to Python or R .

Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CAD
