Role Description The Writer role at RONA is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Metropolitan Area. In this role, the Writer develops clear, engaging content that supports marketing campaigns, in-store materials, product descriptions, and internal communications. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching home improvement topics, drafting and revising copy for multiple channels, and aligning content with brand guidelines and tone. The Writer collaborates closely with marketing, merchandising, and store teams to ensure messaging is accurate, customer-focused, and consistent across print and digital platforms. This position also involves proofreading, fact-checking, and optimizing content for readability and customer engagement. Qualifications Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences and channels. Experience researching topics and translating complex information into accessible, customer-friendly language. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and incorporate feedback while maintaining brand voice and quality standards. Proficiency with standard office and content tools (e.g., word processing software, content management systems) and basic understanding of digital and print communication practices. Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and organization, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of or interest in home improvement, construction, or retail environments is an asset.
