Join Our Team: Making a Difference at Eaton Are you passionate about design and eager to learn in a hands-on engineering environment?
Would you like to be part of a dynamic site engineering design team where you can build practical skills and gain real-world experience?
As an intern, you will support the mechanical design of low-voltage distribution assemblies and collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and supply chain to help support live customer orders—while learning from experienced engineers along the way.

  • INNOVATION: Support the customization of new and existing products using Inventor to meet live customer orders.
  • ANALYSIS: Assist in reviewing incoming Custom Switchboard orders to help identify new design elements and potential gaps.
  • ORGANIZATION: Help maintain the Product Option Matrix to support visibility into available configurations and product line gaps.
  • IMPROVEMENT: Participate in product improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Support the creation and maintenance of standard drawings and modules, including Engineering Change Notices, under guidance.
  • OPTIMIZATION: Learn about manufacturing methods, materials, and specifications by supporting Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) activities and exposure to FMEA and VA/VE tools.
  • QUALITY: Gain exposure to quality processes by assisting with CSA/UL audits, non conformance material requests (NCMRs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs), as needed.

##Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or College diploma program in Mechanical Technology or related stream with an accredited institution or a recent graduate.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must reside within 120 kms of work location to be considered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D Modelling software.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and public speaking experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to learn market influences.
  • Customer service skills.
