Partnership Manager, Financial Institutions

They will lead the management of at least one Financial Institution relationship or network partner for Aeroplan products (primarily cobranded credit cards), which includes being the main point of contact for the partner teams and internal shared services groups as well as leading the daily management of the partnership.
The successful incumbent will lead the management and growth of the assigned portfolio and will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop compelling business strategies and oversee the execution of multiple, concurrent engagement projects in support of Aeroplan and our Financial Institution and network partner goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio & Partnership Management:
- Manage the performance of the network partnership, ensuring delivery against financial, customer, and strategic objectives.
- Oversee the governance framework for the partnership, including performance reviews, risk management, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and cultivate strong, trust based relationships with senior leadership and operational teams across partner organizations.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Lead the strategic planning process for the network partnership and cross FI team, including the definition of objectives, KPIs, growth strategies, and tactical plans.
- Identify market, customer, and competitive insights to inform long term portfolio strategy and partnership evolution.
- Drive cross FI and network initiatives that enhance customer value, strengthen partner alignment, and support organizational priorities.
Financial Modelling, Business Casing & Strategic Analysis:
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate cross FI initiatives, new product concepts, pricing strategies, and partnership structures.
- Conduct scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and profitability assessments to support investment decisions and portfolio optimization.
- Develop comprehensive business cases that articulate strategic rationale, financial impact, customer value, and execution considerations.
- Partner with finance to validate assumptions, refine forecasts, and ensure alignment with organizational financial frameworks.
- Provide data driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership to guide strategic decision making across the cobrand portfolio.
Cross FI/Network Marketing & Product Delivery:
- In collaboration with the Aeroplan Marketing team, design and manage the execution of integrated cross FI and network marketing plans that drive acquisition, engagement, and spend.
- Define, scope, and oversee the delivery of new Aeroplan cross FI/network promotional constructs.
- Ensure seamless execution of initiatives by coordinating across marketing, product, technology, operations, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of account management and/or finance/accounting related experience
- Financial acumen with strong data and analytical capabilities
- Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Experience in credit cards, financial institutions or networks an asset
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously involving various stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Good problem-solving skills and superior attention to detail
- Experience working with partners within collaborative and integrated marketing environments
- Superior interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Strong data-driven thinking and analytical skills
- Thrives in a high-volume, agile, and fast-paced environment within a high-performance, results-oriented, passionate and fun-loving/travel-obsessed team
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual English / French an asset
