Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2526-43 Librarian - Kikino School We are seeking a part-time (0.4615 FTE) Librarian to commence as soon as possible and for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year . The assignment will be for approximately 3 hours each day. The assignment involves managing the operation of the School Library under the supervision of School Administration. The successful applicant will possess the ability to work with both students and staff members. An energetic, personable, team orientated individual is required for this role.
Kikino School is located on the Kikino Metis Settlement 40 km South of the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 100 students in grades ECS to Grade 8. Kikino School is committed to delivering staff who are well-verse in quality instructional delivery that exist in a safe and caring environment with a focus on academic achievement and built on a foundation of holistic child development awareness.
Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have
- Basic or advanced certificate in a recognized Post Secondary Librarian Program
- Experience in the Athena, or related library system
- Knowledge of collection management, cataloging and document delivery
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- A familiarity with computers, current technology and internet research skills
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include
- Previous experience working in a school library
