As a representative of the company, this position directly influences customer allegiance and serves as the first point of contact for both internal and external customers. You will answer the lab's main line, monitor the group's central email box, and ensure that our commitments to our customers are met. This role includes shipping and receiving of customers and internal equipment and managing the parts warehouse including shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities:
- Create workorders within the calibration management software and ensure appropriate service level is assigned
- Prepare and send final calibration documentation to customers
- Coordinate the billing process within the ERP system
- Interact with multiple internal areas including Operations, Technical Support, Logistics, and external suppliers to ensure timely and accurate shipment of product and issue resolution
- Complete inventory adjustments, investigate discrepancies and assist the shipping/receiving department with stock quantity
- Perform daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring shipping turnarounds are met
- Maintain parts inventory and complete daily cycle counts for the warehouse
- Document transactions and perform follow-up actions in accordance with departmental standard operating processes and procedures
- Utilize multiple software programs concurrently to investigate and complete inquiries – I.T. proficiency is a strong asset
- Partner with other departments within Thermo Fisher Scientific and with our suppliers to obtain accurate product information
- Follow established performance metrics including but not limited to quality standards, after call work, adherence, and follow-up on all actions in accordance with departmental standards
- Work from verbal and written instructions and information supplemented by technical job knowledge growth and experience
- Resolve problems through collaborating with internal customers, vendors, and management
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of a College Diploma, or a combination of education and experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Showed attention to detail and ensured document accuracy
- Proven independent work experience
- Good customer service skills
- Demonstrates the ability to coordinate efficient movement of assets through a process flow
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook), AS400 and IBM Notes
- Knowledge of computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO/IEC 17025 is considered an asset
- Deliver and maintain a high level of service to both internal and external parties
- Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and quality
- Practices active listening; demonstrates superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Outstanding teammate when working with members of the immediate team, as well as colleagues outside Customer Service, while demonstrating the ability to work independently
- Position requires the individual to be capable of self-management
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are required
- Taking the initiative to investigate inquiries, gather information, and obtain knowledge in the various channels that this role requires
- General warehouse experience
- Light maintenance duties
- Able to lift or lower goods up to 50lbs. to or from waist level
- May be required to lift 50 lbs
- May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks
- Excellent communication skills
- Motivated, willing to learn, and able to work independently
Working Conditions:
- Works primarily in an office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, storage locations and laboratory environments
- Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety gloves
- Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses
- Must be able to work hours as required to get the job done
- The site position requires no travel
Compensation
The estimated annualized pay range for this position in Ontario is $32,600.00–$48,950.00.
