Membership & Operations Coordinator
Contractor Position | Part-Time | Remote - Ontario-based Start Date: September 2026 Term: Contract to March 2027, with the intention to grow into a full-time position Hours:25-30 hours per week Rate: $25–$28/hour, depending on experience Location: Fully remote, Ontario-based. Some travel to markets and events across Ontario required.
About the Role
Farmers' Markets Ontario is the provincial association supporting 180+ farmers' markets and 6,000+ vendors across Ontario. We are a small, growing team and this is our first hire, which means you will be central to everything we do. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves talking to people, cares about local food and food justice, and is excited to connect with the markets and vendors who make up our community. You don't need to have all the answers, you need to be curious, organized, and ready to pick up the phone. This is a hands-on, varied role with a natural seasonal rhythm.
What You'll Do
Member Relations Be the warm, responsive first point of contact for FMO members, by phone, email, and through our member platform Coordinate membership renewals, new member onboarding, and follow-up Support member communications including our monthly newsletter Build real relationships with market managers and vendors across Ontario Operations & Admin Coordinate our vendor insurance program, member communications, renewals, and partner liaison Support invoicing and light bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online Keep member records, files, and systems accurate and up to date Program Support Help deliver Farmers' Market Week, the annual awards program, and support our AGM and member meetings.
Contribute occasional content for social media and member communications
Develop and support webinars, resources and learning opportunities for members.
What We're Looking For
