Position Summary

As the Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and maintaining Optima Living’s brand identity across digital and print channels. You’ll design visually compelling materials that inspire connection and reflect our warm, welcoming culture. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, someone who can balance creativity with efficiency, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and deliver exceptional work under tight timelines. In this role, you’ll also oversee a structured design workflow, managing project timelines, tracking requests, and ensuring every asset is delivered on time, on brand, and with excellence. Collaboration across teams will be essential as you translate diverse needs into cohesive visual experiences that bring our brand to life.

Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, and produce assets for social media, web, email, print collateral, presentations, events, and signage
  • Uphold and evolve brand guidelines to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all platforms and communities
  • Manage the full creative workflow from intake to delivery, clarifying requirements, planning timelines, and providing status updates to stakeholders
  • Track work in a project management tool such as Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Planner, or Jira, including statuses, owners, and deadlines
  • Maintain version control and approvals by capturing feedback, documenting revisions, and storing final approvals in Teams or SharePoint
  • Prioritize workload, manage competing deadlines, and proactively communicate risks to ensure projects stay on track
  • Prepare print-ready files with correct bleeds, crops, dielines, spot and CMYK color profiles, preflight checks, and linked fonts or assets
  • Export digital-ready files optimized for web and accessibility standards
  • Archive all final and working files using standardized naming conventions and metadata for easy retrieval and long-term use
  • Organize and maintain the digital asset library within digital asset management platform, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Adobe Libraries
  • Tag and catalog assets, retire outdated materials, and surface templates and best-practice kits for future use
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations to enhance taxonomy, templates, and self-serve creative resources
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Communications, Sales, Recruitment, Operations, and external vendors or printers to meet project needs
  • Translate feedback into clear design adjustments and manage workback schedules, rounds of review, and final handoffs for implementation
  • Stay current with design trends, accessibility standards, and emerging creative technologies
  • Contribute fresh ideas to continuously improve design impact, efficiency, and engagement across channels

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
  • 5+ years of in-house or agency experience creating digital and print assets
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Figma and Canva is an asset
  • Proven experience using project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Planner, Jira, or Ziflow
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and production specifications with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting design concepts and negotiating tradeoffs
  • Portfolio required (URL or PDF) with 5–8 samples demonstrating digital, print, and cross-functional collaboration projects
  • Experience in motion graphics, video editing, photography, or basic UI/UX design an asset
  • Familiarity with proofing and markup tools such as Acrobat comments or Frame.io an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 platforms including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams for collaboration and approvals an asset
