About the facility: LLRIBHS promotes health in our communities for the wellbeing of all members. We provide accessible, high quality health services and programs. Together with others, we work to build capacity and educate as we address both acute needs and determinants of health. The Medical Transportation Program is located in La Ronge.

About the position: The Medical Transportation Coordinator provides supervision and direction to the Medical Transportation Team and works under the direction of the Administration Manager. S/he is responsible for day-to-day supervising, scheduling, operating and maintaining the Medical Transportation Program for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Medical Transportation benefits to clients in a manner consistent with NIHB directives;
  • Ensure support to clientele throughout the process (i.e., obtain/submit information, completion of forms, provide clients with notice of appointments and travel, etc.);
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets and yearly program planning, develop proposals, reports, service delivery models and track statistical information;
  • Assist in development and/or implementation of community health plan, strategic plan and evaluations;
  • Provide supervision and direction to Medical Transportation Team;
  • Maintain positive public relations with clients and work effectively with the health care team;
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem solving and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Administration or health related field or equivalent (combination of education and relevant experience may be considered); Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role; Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task; Willing to work flexible hours; Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of the Woodland Cree culture & traditions is an asset; Ability to understand/speak the Cree language is an asset, but not required; Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
