###Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This is a working level position utilizing technical skills and judgment while performing a diverse range of diagnostic procedures and duties within the scope of practice of a Combined Laboratory/X-ray Technologist I (or a Medical Laboratory Technologist I). Current experience in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Specimen Procurement is required. The position includes days, evenings, and weekends; required to take call and live within 30 minutes of the facility when on call. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This includes the ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy when dealing with coworkers, patients, physicians and leadership. Requires strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility, work independently and promote good teamwork under pressure and in emergencies. Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload and adapt to stressful situations by showing initiative, good judgment and attention to detail. Practices effective infection control, and safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Demonstrate desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to professional development. Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures Receptive to new ideas and change.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating and troubleshooting in the past 2 years. Working within a Healthcare setting. Connect Care LIS Experience. Vitros XT3400, Access II, Dxh600, ACL Elite Pro, ISTAT Triage, and Clinitek Advantus.
