Nova Hotels is seeking an experiencedHuman Resources****Managerto support two of our Yellowknife properties:Chateau Nova Yellowknife and Nova Inn Yellowknife.

This is a hands-on HR leadership role supporting General Managers and department leaders in building strong teams, resolving employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with employment and safety legislation.

The ideal candidate is a practical HR professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment and enjoys working closely with operational leaders.

What You’ll Do:

You will act as the primary People & Culture partner for both properties, supporting leaders and associates across all departments.

• Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, ensuring new hires complete required orientation and safety training

• Support workforce planning, training, and performance management across both hotels

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and help resolve employee relations issues fairly and consistently

• Coach leaders through performance issues, difficult conversations, and team management challenges

• Lead employee engagement initiatives and partner with operations to strengthen workplace culture and retention

• Ensure compliance with NWT employment and health & safety legislation and company policies

• Respond to associate inquiries about immigration pathways and coordinate employer support requests

• Maintain HR documentation and support WSCC claims and incident reporting

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of progressive HR experience (Hospitality or Multi-unit experience is a massive plus)

• Knowledge of NWT Employment and Occupational Health and Safety Standards

• Familiarity with immigration-supported hiring programs (e.g., LMIA or PNP) is an asset

• The ability to navigate the unique challenges of the Northern labor market with a "solution-oriented" mindset

• Ability to balance empathy with firm accountability
