Nova Hotels is seeking an experiencedHuman Resources****Managerto support two of our Yellowknife properties:Chateau Nova Yellowknife and Nova Inn Yellowknife.
This is a hands-on HR leadership role supporting General Managers and department leaders in building strong teams, resolving employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with employment and safety legislation.
The ideal candidate is a practical HR professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment and enjoys working closely with operational leaders.
What You’ll Do:
You will act as the primary People & Culture partner for both properties, supporting leaders and associates across all departments.

Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, ensuring new hires complete required orientation and safety training

Support workforce planning, training, and performance management across both hotels

Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and help resolve employee relations issues fairly and consistently

Coach leaders through performance issues, difficult conversations, and team management challenges

Lead employee engagement initiatives and partner with operations to strengthen workplace culture and retention

Ensure compliance with NWT employment and health & safety legislation and company policies

Respond to associate inquiries about immigration pathways and coordinate employer support requests

Maintain HR documentation and support WSCC claims and incident reporting
What You Bring:

3+ years of progressive HR experience (Hospitality or Multi-unit experience is a massive plus)

Knowledge of NWT Employment and Occupational Health and Safety Standards

Familiarity with immigration-supported hiring programs (e.g., LMIA or PNP) is an asset
-
The ability to navigate the unique challenges of the Northern labor market with a "solution-oriented" mindset
-
Ability to balance empathy with firm accountability
