Join Akamai's UX Team The Senior User Experience (UX) Manager leads a team of UX designers and researchers, ensuring their work aligns with product priorities while positioning UX as a strategic partner in shaping outcomes. This role balances day-to-day execution with long-term strategy, managing resources, mentoring talent, and advancing a unified user experience across technical cloud products.

Partner with the best You will be part of a UX organization dedicated to creating intuitive, scalable experiences for cloud solutions. The team collaborates closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver experiences that empower technical users, particularly developers. You will lead a team of UX designers and researchers that contribute across distributed product lines, bringing data-driven insights and creative solutions to deliver consistent, impactful user experiences.

As a Senior User Experience Manager you will be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of UX designers and researchers, fostering professional development and design excellence
• Championing developer experience by addressing workflows across APIs, CLIs, SDKs, and UIs
• Collaborating with Product and Engineering to translate business goals into actionable UX strategies and roadmaps
• Driving cross-product consistency by advocating for design system adoption, shared patterns, and cohesive interactions
• Promoting data-informed decision making through behavioral analytics, user research, and usability testing
• Embedding user-centered practices into the product lifecycle and influence organizational culture toward UX maturity

Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in HCI, UX, Design, Computer Science, or related field or its equivalent
• Have 8+ years of UX experience, including 3+ years in management roles
• Demonstrate ability to lead and scale UX teams in cloud, SaaS, or technical software environments
• Have experience integrating UX into product strategy, roadmaps, and distributed product ecosystems
• Demonstrate expertise designing for technical users such as developers, IT administrators, and engineers
• Possess knowledge of UX methods, usability practices, data-driven design, and design systems
• Have solid leadership, communication, resource management, and stakeholder management skills
