Job ID: 19876 Benefits Offering Company events  Health & Dental Benefits  Employee Assistance Program  Employer RRSP match  Competitive Time Off Policy  Flex Work (Possibility) - Hybrid position  Compensation Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000Position Summary Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Health & Safety Specialist works to support the overall HSE management system in an effort to minimize safety risks and promote a proactive and positive safety culture.  Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties · Identifies opportunities to improve safety and environmental performance and makes recommendations based on findings · Monitors local regulations and client requirements and standards along with company policies and standards to ensure compliance · Assists with directing accident/incident investigation, reporting and/or facilitation of root cause analysis · Performs administrative duties as needed · Coordinates safety training at the project or corporate level · Coordinates purchasing of safety supplies/PPE · May administers corporate or project level drug and alcohol program · May coordinate safe standard work practices with line personnel and monitor conformance through safety inspections · May evaluate compliance with organizational, government health and safety, and environmental standards · May monitor organizational safety, health, and environmental performanceRequired Skills and Qualifications Completion of post-secondary education in Health & Safety or relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience   Accredited HSE Certification strongly preferred  Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in a safety capacity/similar role  Experience working in Railway/Construction Industry considered an asset  Familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and associated regulations and standards, and applicable legislation  Proficient in MS office  Well-developed communication (oral, written and presentation) and interpersonal skills  Valid Driver’s License  Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Flexibility for travel; visits various locations  Flexibility in scheduling to meet operational demands   Works both indoors and outdoors, exposure to all weather conditions  Standing, sitting, walking, speaking   Use of Computer/keyboard  Working in a safety-sensitive culture  Company Overview This job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.  There may be unplanned activities and other duties as assigned.  RailWorks is North America’s leading rail maintenance and infrastructure solutions provider.
