Fire & Security Engineer
G4S
Full time Ref: 20261183 Opened: 09/07/2026 Closes: 24/07/2026
The Role
We are looking for a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our field team. You will be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting the systems that keep our community safe—from CCTV, Door Access and Intruder Alarms to complex Fire Detection systems.
Looking for a Change of Pace?
Are you a Mechanical Engineer, Electrician, or Automotive Technician tired of the same four walls? If you have a "hands-on" background and a knack for solving technical puzzles, we want to hear from you.
We value transferable skills. If you understand circuitry, enjoy diagnostic fault-finding, and take pride in precise work, we can provide industry-specific training to turn your mechanical expertise into a specialized Fire & Security career.
What You'll Be Doing
Installation & Maintenance: Commissioning and servicing Fire Alarms, Intruder, CCTV, and Access Control. Fault Finding: Using your diagnostic skills to track down issues in integrated systems. Compliance: Working to high standards (BS 5839) ensures total safety. Customer Facing: Explaining tech to clients in a way that actually makes sense. Full Retraining: We don't expect you to know every panel on day one. We provide mentored "on-the-tool" training.
What We're Looking For
The Mindset: You're the type of person who likes to take things apart to see how they work. Technical Foundation: Experience in a technical, mechanical, or electrical trade (e.g., Sparky, Auto-Electrician, Maintenance Tech) would be beneficial but not mandatory. Reliability: A full driving license and a clean background for security vetting. Communication: You're comfortable talking to customers.
The Perks
Equipment: a modern van , power tools and uniform. The Money: Competitive base salary with overtime potential, Pension after 1 year employment and a generous call-out standby rate. Growth: We invest in our people. If there's a new system or tech you want to master, we'll help with the training.
