DEPARTMENT: UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT LOCATION: OWEN SOUND UNION: OPSEU – CLERICAL STATUS: FULL-TIME WAGE RATE: $26.020 – $28.046 Reporting to the Manager Decision Support, Coding and Data Quality, the Decision Support Data Quality Clerk position is responsible for the compilation, reconciliation and entry of surgical data for submission to external data collection agencies, for data extraction and reporting, and for supporting the Decision Support Team in data quality and reporting initiatives.
Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
- Secondary School Diploma with relevant administrative/secretarial experience or post-secondary business/office administration diploma
- Experience working in HIM and ability to run reports making any necessary corrections
- Demonstrated competencies in Cerner products including but not limited to Cerner PM applications, PM office, ESM Scheduling, PowerChart and SurgiNet
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (to be tested)
- Knowledge in Medical/Surgical Terminology (to be tested)
- Typing speed of 30 wpm (to be tested)
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
- Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
Preferred
- Experience in a hospital setting with specific knowledge in Surgery, Registration and Health Records
- Knowledge of databases, table structures, and report writing
