This position reports to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman.
The Mill Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a multi-discipline team, providing maintenance and operational support.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise a team of Welders, Pipefitters, and a Carpenter who provide maintenance and operational support for Break-in work, Normal Run and Shutdown Activities.
- Participate in regular and extended shutdown coordination and planning to effectively implement activities.
- Work with the engineering group to coordinate major maintenance activities including capital projects.
- Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien safety principles and priorities.
- Direct their area of responsibility to achieve the highest standards in all aspects, including safety, employee relations, production, cost, and effective utilization of the resources available.
- Direct, adjust and cease work activities to ensure employees are performing safe and productive work.
- Support the efficiency and reliability of the Maintenance Department systems and equipment by liaising with Mill Operations and Engineering Departments.
- Respond to scheduled and unscheduled callouts and assist other supervisors, planners and schedulers with shutdown maintenance planning.
- Keep peers and subordinates informed on operations, particularly calling attention to changes, abnormalities and new problems as they arise.
- Regularly promote and engage in continuous improvement, recommending alterations or modifications to existing systems, providing technical advice to personnel for improving maintenance and operating reliability and efficiency.
- Support coordination and supervision of Service Provider activities, as required.
What You'll Bring:
- Journeyperson Certificate or technical designation in the related field required, combined with 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance, planning, scheduling and asset management.
- Preference will be given to candidates with supervisory experience in a unionized and/or mill processing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including strong team building and communication skills.
- Thorough organizational and computer skills.
- Experience with EAM, Viziya, and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to handle a large and varied workload prioritizing work tasks with minimal supervision.
- A strong commitment to safety with knowledge of OH&S, Mine and Environmental and other jurisdictional regulations, Company Policies and Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
