**SD35 - Langley School District
PRINCIPAL** Elementary / Middle / Secondary We are accepting applications for our Principal Pool as we anticipate vacancies. These opportunities may occur at Elementary, Middle or Secondary Schools.
Our District The Langley School District is situated on the traditional unceded territories of the Matsqui, Kwantlen, Katzie, and Semiahmoo First Nations. It is comprised of the City of Langley and the Township of Langley and is located in the central Fraser Valley, 40 kilometres east of Vancouver. As of 2025, Langley has a population of just under 183,000 people and above average individual and family incomes. Bordered on the north by the Fraser River and by the Canada/US border to the south, the District employs more than 3,800 staff and serves approximately 26,800 students in 46 school sites, providing French Immersion, Fundamental, and Alternate programs. Langley neighbours Surrey to the west and Abbotsford to the east and operates on an annual budget of $408 million.

The Position Education Langley School District is seeking dynamic, forward-thinking leaders who bring energy, passion, and a fresh perspective to education. We are looking for leaders who have:
- In-depth understanding of BC's Curriculum: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, with practical ideas for implementation at both district and school levels.
- Expertise in diversified student assessment strategies: Proven background and experience in current and varied assessment methods.
- Visionary leadership: Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor a shared vision for the school.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across the school community.
- Proven leadership in education: Successful track record in instruction, assessment, curriculum implementation, and professional development.
- Dynamic communication skills: Ability to build partnerships within the school community through impactful and clear communication.
- Comprehensive operational experience: Extensive experience in managing the organization, operation, and resources of a school.
- Innovative and supportive: Experience in creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and caring school climate.
- Community and district involvement: Demonstrated skills in working cooperatively with parents, professionals, and community service agencies.
- Commitment to inclusivity: Proven ability to support children and youth in care, students with diverse abilities, and Indigenous students through tailored programs and initiatives.
- Adaptability to change: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change effectively within the school environment.
The Position Requirements
- Ministry of Education and Child Care Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
- A master's degree from a recognized university or enrolment in a graduate degree program preferably a Master's Degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum Development.
- Five (5) or more years of exemplary teaching experience as well as proven leadership and administrative experience.
- A brief cover letter, a complete resume that summarizes related experiences, and a statement of leadership philosophy.
- Three current professional references.
