About the role
Gateway Mechanical currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician!
Based in Saskatoon, SK the Electrician will perform quality installations for our valued clients on commercial and industrial sites while show casing exceptional customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults;
- Install system components and wiring;
- Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits;
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work;
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation;
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques;
- Splice, join and connect wires;
- Renovate electrical systems in Industrial and Commercial structures;
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications;
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs as required;
- Work within the construction industry in commercial and small project environments;
- Maintain clean and operable equipment, vehicle and work area at all times;
- Complete the required daily equipment inspections, safety reports, and Field Level Hazard Assessments;
- Other duties may be assigned as required.

- Willing to learn and take instruction;
- Attention to detail;
- Exercise sound judgement and always maintain a professional demeanor;
- Strong technical expertise is considered an asset;
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team in a multi-trade environment;
- Ability to take the correct initiative and work independently while maintaining clear communication to overseeing Foreman.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Journeyman/person Electrical Certification;
- 5+ years in a similar role;
- Experience in maintaining or installing commercial Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical, automated energy management and building management systems is required;
- Grocery store installation of control systems considered an asset;
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and current drivers abstract;
- Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, PSTS, Fall Protection, AWP, H2S Alive, considered an asset.
