Fine Arts (510) Teaching Opportunity - Painting and Drawing focus
About the role
The Department of Fine Arts is seeking candidates for a teaching opportunity with a focus onPainting and Drawing. We are seeking a practicing contemporary artist to contribute to our studio program and engage students in the development of creative practice and critical inquiry.
Job description and tasks
In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, the role also includes:

Involvement in pedagogical days organized by the College

Participation in departmental meetings

Involvement in student-focused activities such as field trips, competitions, and year-end Graduate Exhibition.

Performing other department related administrative duties
Required Qualifications
- MA in Fine Arts or equivalent master level studies
- Professional standing in the field of contemporary art: a record of exhibitions and a significant body of creative visual work as a practicing artist***(focused on painting and drawing***). Presentation of a portfolio will be required in selection process. -Specialization in painting, drawing, with additional experience in media art an asset
- Teaching experience at the College level an asset
- Excellent English communication skills essential
- Teaching in the French language may be required.
Painting and Drawing courses in the Fine Arts Department reflect a wide range of artistic themes and materials. These classes demand a technical knowledge of both representation and abstraction. Skill sets should include proficiency with drawing the human figure with an appreciation for anatomical accuracy, a solid understanding of linear perspective (including one-point, two-point and three-point perspective), and a background in colour theory and painting techniques.

It is the largest CEGEP in the province of Quebec, with a student population of approximately 8,000 day students and 3,000 evening students enrolled in more than 30 fields of study.
