Orthotics Technician (Registered)
About the role
Position Overview
Fabrication, repair, and modification of orthoses. Persons allergic to the dust, chemicals, or fumes produced in the manufacture of orthoses would not be suitable for this position.
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient‑centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province‑wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience as incorporated into CBCPO Registration in Orthotics.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete Grade 11 education (Manitoba standards).
- Completion of a recognized prosthetics/orthotics educational program is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Must have achieved and maintained "good standing" status as a Registered Orthotic Technician with The Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO).
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Good mechanical aptitude required.
Physical Requirements
- Good manual dexterity.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
