The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to*:*
- Development of product and cable/harness design solutions to meet specific design requirements.
- Conduct and minute discussion meetings and peer reviews of design artifacts.
- Review and analysis of vendor or stakeholder design documentation and mechanical drawings.
- Creation of power and system functional/block drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Creation of electrical design artifacts such as schematics, interconnects, product specifications, Bill of Materials, etc. for system-level architecture connectivity.
- Support of prototype development and testing along with definition of test procedures and needed resources.
- Support of qualification planning and testing, including management of product test equipment and labour resources.
- Support Production team during New Product Integration (NPI) stages.
- Maintain ongoing research of new materials/suppliers to strengthen supply chain.
- Document design information in Electronic Computer Aided Design (ECAD), Microsoft Visio and Office software products.
What you bring to the role
- Current student in electrical engineering or an electrical technologist diploma from an accredited college, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
- Resourceful/agreeable to enable strong vendor liaison/stakeholder communications.
- Production and results-oriented self-starter.
- Provides conceptual design, drafting and/or technical support to project groups.
- Aptitude for working well in teams.
- Ability to work independently.
- Available for four months, starting September 2026
- Eligible for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret clearance in a timely manner.
Additional skills desired for the role
- Experience with Electrical Computer Aided Design Software.
- Basic understanding of the principles of shock and vibration, thermal management and electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compliance management and how these environmental requirements are accommodated in product design.
- Active security clearance will be considered an asset.
- Results-Oriented Self-Starter Attitude.
