Within TD Technology, the Treasury Analytics Group (TAG) is dedicated to support the Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department creating models, financial systems, applications, and processes required to support various functional teams in TBSM including Cash Management and Liquidity.

As regulators and the industry significantly ratchet up the focus and investment in Intraday Liquidity, this opportunity provides the one with the ability to be in at the ground level and to help lead the bank wide TD Intraday Liquidity program forward. This team operates like a small tech company within a large financial institution. The ideal candidate is a passionate business systems analyst who enjoys experimenting with new technologies and solutioning across all areas within the bank.

About This Role Treasury Analytics Group (TAG) is looking for a Manager, Business Systems Analyst to join the Intraday Liquidity Technology team, who will be building the strategic bank wide real-time intraday liquidity platform that will be leveraged by both funding operations and treasury department. The application will provide the capacity to measure expected daily gross liquidity inflows and outflows, anticipate the intraday timing of these flows, forecast the range of potential net funding shortfalls that might arise at different points during the day and have the capacity to monitor intraday liquidity positions against expected activities and available resources (balances, remaining intraday credit capacity, available collateral).

Sitting in this position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our Treasury alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology and finance professionals. Our team is made up of dynamic and strong technical leads, developers, QAs, and BSA's who build and maintain critical technology platforms in an Agile environment. You'll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects.

  • Lead a team of BSA to analyze and understand business and data requirements to develop complete Intraday Liquidity data conform/matching process, including data models (entity relationship diagrams, dimensional data models), ETL and business rules, data lineage, metadata and reporting elements.
  • Participate in data analysis and project testing across numerous environments on various technology platforms including TD trading and payment systems.
  • Transform business requirements and research into winning delivery solutions that meet performance goals.
  • Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing issues, defining opportunities for business process improvements and making recommendations within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Define, document, and translate high level business requirements into detailed function specifications as outlined by managers and/or stakeholders.
  • Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase, identify gaps or redesign as needed.
  • Define metrics and performance goals with technology partners and peers.
  • Identify ways to minimize cost, play a role in introducing strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience.
  • Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application (e.g. cross-capability/release issues).
  • Demonstrate high level of proactivity and strong ownership.
  • Communicate effectively both inside and outside the team to achieve results and build strong relationships.

Key Accountabilities CUSTOMER

  • Manage / lead a team of Business Systems Analysts / Specialists and oversee related systems analysis activities and deliverables
  • Manage resources and assignment, ensuring project milestones are met and monitoring to keep projects on schedule
  • Provide advice and guidance to appropriate stakeholders on a range of issues within the scope of own area
  • Identify and develop / leverage key business performance measures or metrics for own area and ensure benchmark / best practice information is shared with appropriate parties
  • Oversee and manage escalated issues to ensure resolution or redirect as appropriate ensure
  • When required, directly intervene and support the BSA's on initiatives that are "at risk" or require additional management attention
  • Ensure deliverables are agreed to by stakeholders and managed / implemented effectively by the team
  • Oversee the creation, delivery and maintenance of required documentation and deliverables
  • Ensure process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately
  • Understand and communicate impact of scope changes to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective
  • Review and provide input to project documentation as required and monitor and continue to assess and mitigate risks and monitor and track progress
  • Prioritize work based on goals and risks of projects and ensure milestones, activities and tasks are completed as scheduled
  • Contribute to project readiness assessments and participate and contribute to lessons learned
  • Provide insight, information and recommendations on industry trends and significant issues
  • Promote and develop awareness of business analysis and requirements methodologies and standards
  • Act as a consultant / resource to other areas of Enterprise Technology and the Business

SHAREHOLDER

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support the development sound business cases with an on-going focus on reusability, scalability, innovation and enterprise-wide solutions
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with businesses, technology groups, and key stakeholders to identify and assess new project in-take requests.
  • Maintain an "end to end" view of the customer, business and processes to be able to triage new requests based on changing partner needs.
  • Manage / oversee the in-take of new projects and ensure Business Systems Analyst resources are effectively allocated amongst the project portfolio
  • Communicate and negotiate timelines, budget, staffing, scope and critical milestones with project managers and key stakeholders
  • Identify and understand emerging risks related to project activity and ensure business requirements and solutions appropriately mitigate risks
  • Track individual progress of each active project and assist in the preparation of monthly project reporting and partner/executive dashboard reporting
  • Ensure the team maintains compliance and procedure guidelines to support satisfactory audit results
  • Manage relationships with project team members, third party vendors/ service partners, other technology and client areas as appropriate

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Manages a team of Business Systems Analysts that are assigned to projects ranging in size (e.g. Tier 2-5)
  • Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Coordinates and prioritizes multiple initiatives
  • Establishes effective relationships with different business units, portfolio managers, and project managers
  • Significant resource management responsibilities (includes people management)
  • Generally reports to a Senior Manager or above

Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • Graduate degree, preferred
  • 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end bank's payment lifecycle/workflows for multiple asset classes, protocols as SWIFT, etc.
  • Hands on experience in doing analysis for delivering trade messaging components/solutions for trading workflows across a variety of capital market asset classes like FX, Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, etc.
  • Experience and strong knowledge in writing complex SQL statements.
  • Data mappings and transformations across multiple systems.
  • Strong keenness in completing the data onboarding and analysis by validating/testing with business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point, Jira, and Confluence).
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of business analysis principles and project lifecycles.
  • Commitment to applying advanced to expert knowledge of business technology delivery practices and standards and related expertise, including design, development, testing and project management.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of system analysis process and techniques, as well as system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows and business rules.
  • Talent in identifying risks both within and across projects and recommending ways to mitigate them.
  • Strength at managing and directing activities related to analysis, design, testing, deployment, and support of technical business solutions on larger projects.
  • Commitment to and beliefs in the quality of your deliverables.
