Position: Sport Instructor, Badminton
Department: Community Sport and Physical Literacy
Reports to: Sport Programmer, Community Sport
Position Type: Auxiliary (2-4 hours per week)

We are looking for a passionate individual with a love of badminton and a sound coaching background. This position is focused on introducing individuals ages 9 to 16 to badminton and developing fundamental badminton skills, rules and tactics, agility, balance, coordination and speed.
Key Responsibilities:

Setting up badminton nets and equipment

Ensuring your prepared for each class by making lesson plans and drills for a range of different abilities and ages

Responsible for the supervision and high-quality delivery of the Richmond Olympic oval Badminton program
-
Responsible for the safety and progressive instruction of the badminton programs according to the Long-Term Development Model/Sport for Life

Implementing a variety of techniques for children to develop badminton skills
-
Communicates effectively with the Sport Programmer and Head Coach about the program needs and improvements

Compliance with program policies and procedures (attendance, first aid, etc.)
Qualifications:
-
A love for teaching children!

Exceptional customer service skills
-
Has extensive background and knowledge in badminton and sport instruction
-
Experience delivering high quality, badminton programming to children ages 9 to 16 is preferred
-
NCCP is an asset
-
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-
Optimistic, passionate and personable
-
Valid First Aid and CPR
-
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
Compensation range: $21.10 - $42.03 plus 12% in lieu of benefits (hourly rate is based on qualifications and experience)
