About the Role
As ATB’s next Senior Manager, Sponsorships and Event Experiences, you will be fiercely accountable for leading best-in-class sponsorships and event experiences that help:
- Demonstrate our deep, sector-specific expertise to drive brand equity and sophistication;
- Deepen relationships, retention and loyalty with our clients;
- Drive lead generation and acquisition targets; and
- Build, elevate and protect ATB’s reputation in the community.
Accountabilities
- Be responsible for designing and executing a portfolio of sponsorships and event experiences that deliver strategic value and results to ATB’s target business sector.
- Drive the design of sponsorship activation strategies and event experiences that maximize return to sponsorship, brand and business objectives, effectively embedding reputation, PESO model, brand compliance, and regulatory risks into approach.
- Be able to collaborate, lead, guide and inspire; champion the client experience, cascading best-in-class sponsorship principles and best practices to ATB’s Business Banking and Culture, Communication and Marketing teams.
- Execute comprehensive sponsorship and client hosting activation plans, on time, on budget and to a differentiating standard.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be a strong partner to Brand Comms, Social Media, Creative and Digital Content teams to strengthen integration of applicable marketing initiatives and support strategic content development across your portfolio.
- Use strategic thinking and presentation skills to position sponsorship and client hosting experiences in a way that satisfies key initiatives and tackles complex issues.
- Plan and execute measurement practices as part of every sponsorship and client hosting experience you manage, that articulate the value of sponsorships to ATB Wealth’s brand and reputation in the community.
- Meaningfully engage with ATB team members as volunteers at your sponsorship and event experiences; ensure their behavior and approach to client interactions is appropriate and on-brand.
- Be a leader and champion of your sponsorship and events portfolio, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders that positions ATB Business as a leader in the communities we operate.
- Remain up-to-date on current sponsorship marketing and client hosting experiences to ensure best-in-class practices are understood and executed upon.
- Manage daily workflow, follow processes and tackle complex issues. Serve as a senior strategic point of contact for senior leaders, sponsor properties and agency partners on your sponsorship and client hosting experiences portfolio.
- Inspire stakeholders across the organization to participate enthusiastically in sponsorship and client hosting event activity.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years progressive sponsorship and/or marketing experience
- Strong events background with preference given to candidates with corporate event experience
- Ability to sharpen focus on elements that drive best in class sponsorship and client hosting experiences
- Ability to develop strong relationships inside and outside the organization that can support ATB Business objectives
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various areas of the business and stakeholders and be the go-to individual for sponsorship or event experience related questions from ATB Business team members
- Strong negotiation skills, extensive experience in leading and managing sponsorship contract process
- Experience working in Agile workflow and with Jira Project Management software
- Strong collaborator and mentor with the ability to bring out the best in talent (from senior executives to volunteers) that leads to success
- A balance of working collaboratively as well as the drive to work independently, pushing work forward across your portfolio of sponsorship and client hosting experiences
- Application of a data-driven approach to sponsorship marketing. Experience developing metrics and using data to optimize performance and quantify sponsorship success or failure over the long-term
- Ability to achieve strategic goals and evolve an approach based on research, data and industry trends in an innovative and fast-paced environment. Can strengthen the connection between marketing insights and relevant actions
- Drive continuous improvement of sponsorship and client hosting experience performance through KPI tracking and performance management
- Manage expenses to ensure costs remain within budget constraints
- Proven leadership skills in working in spans and layers to build strong internal and external relationships, and collaborate to achieve results for OneATB.
- Ability to travel in and out of the province, work outside normal business hours depending on event schedule
Additional Information
- This is a 15 month term opportunity.
- This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 2 days on-site per week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.

About the Role
As ATB’s next Senior Manager, Sponsorships and Event Experiences, you will be fiercely accountable for leading best-in-class sponsorships and event experiences that help:

- Be responsible for designing and executing a portfolio of sponsorships and event experiences that deliver strategic value and results to ATB’s target business sector.
