POSITION TITLE: Electrical Sub-Assembler
SHIFT: Day Shift (Monday to Thursday, 5:30a.m. - 3:30p.m., 4x10 hour shifts)
Afternoon Shift (Monday to Thursday, 4:00p.m. - 2:00p.m., 4x10 hour shifts)
LOCATION: Collingwood, ON
MacLean Engineering is looking for a skilled Electrical Sub-Assembler to join our growing aftermarket production team within our Collingwood*, Ontario* facility. This is a great opportunity to be part of a small growing team, supplying aftermarket parts for heavy mobile mining equipment to various customers internationally, and to our other Ontario manufacturing plants. About the Position: The Electrical Sub-Assembler position involves assembly and fabrication of electrical equipment, parts, and components; as well as testing electrical parts and components to ensure conformance to prescribe standards in compliance with all MEMCO policies and procedures:
- Read and interpret advanced engineering drawings/schematics to build and test electrical circuits, simple panels (i.e. junction boxes, master switches, etc.), and assemblies as specified with minimal supervision.
- Cut wires and conduit to specified length, label, and install as specified.
- Crimp/solder wire terminals and finish as required.
- Fabricate enclosures by drilling, tapping, punching, and sealing.
- Perform basic continuity testing on workmanship and materials.
- Operate testing equipment (i.e. Multimeter, power supplies) to inspect and troubleshoot final assembly/circuits for compliance to engineering specifications and applicable safety standards.
- Check mechanical dimension and perform “go-no-go” electrical tests.
- Advise on proper operation of parts, assemblies, systems, and equipment.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering as required to communicate details of non-conformances found during the shift, and to help formulate corrective action taken.
- Adopt and practice good housekeeping and 5S principles.
- Ability to work independently and perform Electrical assembly or panel preparation with a high level of competence as designated by the Assembly Supervisor.
- Perform inspection and testing to ensure safety, quality, and functionality of various assemblies and finished documents.
- Able to determine build sequences and troubleshoot and repair problems associated with build.
- Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards.
- Abide by ISO 9001 Quality Management System and associated procedures.
- Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, and work environment.
- Willing to cross-train in other departments as needed on a temporary basis.
About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in related discipline is preferred
- One to two (1-2) years previous electrical experience is an asset
- Previous computer experience is an asset
- Previous experience installing, mounting, fastening, aligning adjusting parts, components, wiring and harnesses to subassemblies using hand and small power tools is an asset
- Previous experience inspecting electronic components and assemblies to ensure adherence to specified requirements is an asset
- Previous experience soldering, crimping, and manually assembling various electrical wires and components is an asset
