Cashiers provide our customers with friendly and professional service, and process customer orders in an accurate and efficient manner. Join the team and help create a positive, engaging environment that delivers exceptional experience for our customers.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Provide excellent customer service processing transactions to meet customer needs
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer following company policies and procedures
- Operate Customer Service Desk following all procedures for lottery sales, refunds, bottle returns and inquiries
- Maintain Front End Department merchandise
- Participate in the training of junior staff
- Adhere to, and implement all applicable company standards
- Support additional departments and functions with other duties as required
What you have to offer:
- Basic level of numeracy skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Thrifty Foods is a chain of supermarkets located in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded by Alec Campbell and Ernie Skinner in 1977 when the first store was opened in Victoria's Fairfield neighbourhood. As of June 2014, the chain operates 27 stores on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. It is the largest supermarket chain on Vancouver Island. In 2007 it became a division of Sobeys Inc. which operates independently of the larger company.
Thrifty Foods, since 2004, has operated an on-line grocery service on Vancouver Island. The online ordering system extends into the Metro Vancouver area.
