Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
Apprentice (3rd or 4th Year) Location: Leduc, Alberta Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Opportunity We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused 3rd or 4th Year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice to join our team in Leduc, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced Journeyperson technicians maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy equipment in a fast-paced operational environment. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience while continuing their apprenticeship progression and developing advanced diagnostic and repair skills.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment and support vehicles. Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, engine, and mechanical systems. Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and efficiently. Support unscheduled repairs to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow company safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, and fellow technicians.
Qualifications
Registered 3rd or 4th Year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice. Previous experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset). Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience
Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing: Nitrogen pumping units Nitrogen conversion units Coiled tubing support equipment Pressure pumping equipment Oilfield service rigs and rig support equipment Diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical controls Heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and ancillary oilfield equipment What We Offer Competitive hourly wages.
