About the role
The Co-op Ethanol Complex (CEC) is hiring a Plant Engineer on a permanent basis to work on-site in Belle Plaine, SK.
Given the remote location of our site, we offer a commuting allowance to help offset travel costs for employees who commute beyond a specified distance.

What you’ll do:
- Support the design, planning, installation, and maintenance of plant systems, facilities, and equipment to improve the safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency of ethanol production, under the direction of the CEC Director.
- Identify equipment, process, and facility issues and contribute to the evaluation and implementation of practical solutions that improve plant performance and operational efficiency.
- Participate in capital and improvement projects, including scope development, budgeting support, installation, commissioning, and documentation, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
- Monitor plant equipment and processes to support optimal performance, assist with tracking KPIs, and contribute ideas and recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives and future projects.

You will work collaboratively with maintenance teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support safe operations, knowledge sharing, and compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.

We help grow Western Canadian communities through our commitment to purchase local grain and starch inputs to produce ethanol and dried distillers grain (DDG). We use the ethanol to support a lower carbon economy in Western Canada.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in engineering and:
- Ideally, have experience in an industrial environment supporting equipment maintenance and medium-sized projects.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, industrial, mechanical, petroleum, or related) and are registered with APEGS as an EIT or P.Eng (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
