Job Description

Working under the direction of the Director, Facilities, Construction & Retail Operations, this position will conduct project management activities including:

  • Works in a self-directed manner to manage a portfolio of multiple complex corporate-wide projects across varying functional areas of expertise, as defined within the overall context of the project plan.

  • Provide support to the Care/Service Delivery Owners/Project Sponsors and their designated project leads on various initiatives and projects by managing, developing, and evaluating methods and procedures that are efficient, effective, and utilize good project management and change management practices to support assigned projects.

  • Leads the development of an enterprise system that will increase efficiency/patient safety, reduce cost and improve

  • Develops RFI/RFP’s and works with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies and systems as required.

  • Manages project(s) deliverables (Charter, risk register, issues log, budget, etc.) and establishes process for ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Negotiates and resolves contractual and project issues with contractors and suppliers.

  • Works with stakeholders and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering;

  • Works with stakeholder groups and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering, solve innovative business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals, employing a full range of organizational resources to gather information, involve others, and make recommendations accordingly.

  • Develops and presents material for review and information using strong written, verbal, and graphical communications skills with the ability to express complex concepts effectively.

  • Provide strategic leadership and corporate vision to operational and project teams.

  • Functions at and utilizes a high level of autonomy in determining objectives of assignment to achieve desired results, allocating staff resources, delegating assignments, scheduling/prioritizing staff workloads, determining, monitoring and reviewing team goals, performance and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health/life sciences, engineering or business administration field or recognized equivalent

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or project management certificate

  • Must have at least 5 years of extensive project management experience.

  • Proven experience managing small ($1M) to large, complex ($50 M +) projects on time and on budget,

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and undertake a wide variety of projects with a broad range of focus.

  • Lean/process improvement exposure is desirable.

  • Self-motivated, work independently and integrate well as a member of a variety of teams

  • Flexible and enjoy working in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to review, synthesize, compare and summarize complex tender documents

  • Experience liaising with a broad range of individuals from clinical and professional staff to external stakeholders

  • Effective research skills to identify best practices for a wide variety of areas related to complex projects.

  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills essential

  • Interpersonal and conflict management skills

  • Time management, organizational, conceptual and strategic thinking skills and abilities

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Visio, database management, project management software, etc.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-4pm

Salary: $53.083 to $65.767 per hour
