Job Description
The Research & Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that promote the research initiatives of the University of Toronto. This role involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to create engaging content that highlights research achievements and fosters community engagement.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication plans for research initiatives.
- Create and manage content for various platforms, including websites, social media, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with researchers to gather information and translate complex research into accessible language.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in an academic or research environment.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in graphic design or multimedia production.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and academic publishing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other Relevant Details
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to cover events and deadlines.
