Job Title: Air Emissions Reporting Coordinator (Student)

Location: Calgary, AB

Terms: Temporary (6 month term, full-time)

Salary Range: $25,000 - $30,000 (6-month term)

The Position

We are seeking a motivated student to support our air emissions management and reporting efforts for our clients. In this role, you will work closely with our team, using our industry-leading emissions management software, to assist with tasks such as data entry, organization, and basic analysis. Your contributions will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of air emissions inventories while providing valuable support for our emissions quantification and reporting processes.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the environmental and emissions management field while learning about advanced tools and techniques used in the industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in gathering and organizing data for emissions inventories, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Import, enter, and validate data in Process Ecology’s Emissions Advisor software under the guidance of the team.
  • Support the quantification of air emissions from various sources using existing tools and established methodologies.
  • Assist in maintaining facility and equipment inventories to meet reporting requirements.
  • Help prepare regulatory reports by compiling data and ensuring consistency with submission guidelines.
  • Perform quality checks on emissions data to support reporting accuracy and compliance.
  • Submit emissions inventories to regulatory reporting portals.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support to the emissions management team as needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in data organization and management processes.
  • Learn about emissions management practices and regulations through hands-on experience and team mentorship.

The Candidate

Individuals with the following traits, skills and experiences should apply:

  • Working on a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Any experience in relevant air emissions reporting (e.g., from a previous student work term) is an asset
  • Familiarity with air emissions reporting regulations in Western Canada, particularly for benzene, methane, GHG, and NPRI reporting is an asset
  • Programming skills/experience is an asset
  • Experience with process simulators is an asset
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to be proactive in ensuring client regulatory requirements are met
  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects
  • Excellent oral and written English (fluency in Spanish is an asset)
  • Proven to be creative, precise, and innovative in finding solutions to technical problems
