Veterinary Client Care, Assistant
Location: Waterloo, ON
Lexington Rd. Animal Hospital is currently recruiting for a dependable and confident Customer Service Representative / Technician Assistant to join our clinic. This part-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital.
Key responsibilities and attributes in your role as Customer Service Representative include:
- Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
- Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
- Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
- Admitting and discharging pet patients, Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
- Scheduling appointments
- Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
- Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset!
Additional responsibilities include:
- At least one year of veterinary experience preferred.
- Assist the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
- Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients
- General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
- Compassion and a nurturing attitude
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to adapt to changing situations
- Efficient in carrying out assignments independently
- Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day
- Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certificate is an asset
